To navigate the complexity, the project followed a structured experience design process unfolding across six interconnected stages. While consecutive in logic, these phases remained deliberately iterative, allowing insights to be tested and refined through continuous dialogue between research, interpretation, and making. Grounded in this framework, the process focused on understanding how people living with Type 2 diabetes and Prediabetes experience care in everyday life and on identifying the gaps where healthcare often fails to respond to their unaddressed needs:

Navigation | The different design stages
The six stages function as both an orientation system and a working method. They alternate between divergent and convergent modes, opening the field to explore contexts and perspectives, then narrowing focus to synthesis insights, define directions, and translate them into tangible outcomes. This rhythm between expansion and reduction structures the entire process, guiding the movement from observation to framing, and from structure to visualisation. Grounded in lived experience, each step remains grounded in lived experience while progressively shaping clarity and coherence.
